Ccw Glock - We take a look at some of the Glock's top competitors to be your next concealed carry pistol. What sets them apart and which might be best for you?

If you've already decided to take a Glock, congratulations! You will join the ranks of millions of defensive shooters around the world. Not only does Glock produce some of the most popular service pistols on the planet, they also make some incredible options for civilian personal protection.

Glock has a well-deserved reputation for producing some of the most reliable (and affordable) guns in the world. These robust firearms are made from Polymer 2, a high-strength nylon-based polymer invented by Gaston Glock himself. This lightweight plastic is designed for durability and is stronger than most steel alloys. Polymer 2 resists corrosion, moisture, temperature extremes and shocks.

Glock also designed its popular semi-automatic pistols with fewer parts than other designs. Most other pistols are made with twice as many components as the standard Glock. This means the Glock has fewer parts to break or malfunction, adding a new level of reliability.

Simple design and durable materials make Glock pistols virtually foolproof. Without any special maintenance, Glock pistols can survive the habits of the most careless gun owners. They work reliably even when wet, dirty or neglected.

On top of that, we think it's always best practice to actually go out and shoot the gun you're considering carrying. No words on the internet can replace the feel of the gun in your hand while you're on the firing line. It might also make sense to grab a holster and "try out the gun".

That said, if you value capacity and can carry it comfortably, there are plenty of American shooters who rely on the Glock 19 for concealed carry capability. It's a fantastic choice for concealed carry.

If you don't want something that big and don't mind giving up capacity? We recommend the Glock 43. Read on to learn more about the best Glock concealed carry options and how they differ.

Glocks come in a variety of designs, and some are definitely more concealable than others. If you're new to the world of Glocks, it might take some effort to cut through the noise to find your most hidden models. Do not worry. We're here to help.

We've highlighted some of the best Glock hidden carry deals to help you find the model that will work best for you. There is definitely no such thing as a one-size-fits-all CCW. Ultimately, it's up to you to figure out what you can skillfully shoot and what best suits your carrying style. However, we sincerely believe that this list will help you find the CCW Glock of your dreams.

While the G19 is a bit of a hustler in the concealed-carry world, there are solid reasons why this is the most popular CCW gun on the market today. The G19 is a reliable and complete pistol. It features ergonomic design and enough substance for easy handling even for inexperienced shooters. It's a little smaller (and more concealable) than the Glock's full-size gun (Glock 17), but big enough to minimize recoil and barrel lift for faster, more accurate follow-up shots.

Compared to the G17, the G19 only sacrifices two laps. With a capacity of 15 plus one round, the dual-stack G19 has an above-average round count (as far as concealed-carry weapons go). And every round counts in a self-defense situation, especially as magazine changes can be problematic for casual shooters, especially in high-adrenaline situations.

The double-stack design (which provides the large round capacity) can also be a potential downside. As the G19 holds rounds in two staggered columns, it has a rather thick grip. The large width may be difficult for some users to hide, especially under tight clothing or smooth materials.

However, the almost insane popularity of the Glock 19 produced a huge number of holsters and accessories for this weapon. There is no shortage of case options for this model, some of which are specifically designed to minimize the impression.

For the Model 26, Glock basically took all the functionality of the G19 and reduced it to the size and weight of a small, short-barreled revolver. Its ultra-compact size makes the G26 (affectionately called the "Baby Glock") much easier to hide.

However, concealment is only part of the CCW equation. Ultimately, you need a gun that you can shoot accurately. The real work comes after your weapon comes out of hiding to face a dangerous threat. And the lighter weight, shorter aiming radius, and limited grip make the G26 a little harder to shoot accurately. At self-defense ranges, however, most shooters shouldn't see much of a difference.

The internet is full of "experts" who claim this small gun is perfect for small hands. Don't listen to them. Small hands don't need a small gun. In fact, smaller shooters (who of course also have smaller hands) tend to shoot significantly better with a larger gun. Small pistols tend to have a faster recoil, which can be difficult for small hand shooters to tame. A weapon with a little extra grip property will feel more stable in the hand, even if it is slippery.

That said, if you have big, powerful palms, it's going to be hard to fit all your fingers into this grip. Fortunately, there are some fantastic grip extensions on the market that basically solve the problem.

If you thought the G26 was small, the Glock 43 is even smaller. This model definitely pushes the size limits while still managing to retain most of the Glock's practical shooting capabilities.

The G43's grip doesn't have a lot of surface area, which can cause some problems with maintaining a firm grip on the firearm through successive shots. Glock solved the problem by adding a built-in beavertail to help you keep a tall, steady grip. The grip surface is also aggressively textured to keep the gun from slipping in your hands, even when your palms are sweaty.

Not only does the G43 have limited grip space, it also has a shorter barrel and weighs just 20.64 grams fully loaded. Any time you reduce a weapon's size and weight, you also reduce its performance. Marksmen should expect more savage recoil, and the shorter aiming radius will certainly have some effect on accuracy, especially at longer ranges.

At just under an inch wide, the single-stack G43 has one of the slimmest profiles on the market. If you need a weapon that practically disappears under everything in your wardrobe, this is it.

If you want to go even smaller than the G43, the Glock 42 is the smallest Glock on the block. It has a thin single-stack profile that makes this weapon perfect for deep concealment. This baby is less than an inch thick and weighs less than a pound, even with a full magazine!

Concealed Carry: Glock 19 Vs. Glock 26

While the G42 pocket gun disappears like magic, it has all the usual shortcomings of a mouse gun. The small dimensions make it almost impossible to get a stable grip, even if you have average hands. The good news is there's virtually no recoil thanks to the .380 automatic magazine.

Honestly, for a micro pistol, this one fires surprisingly well. Just don't expect it to shoot as well as the Glock 19. This is not a precision pistol and you won't get any 50 yard shots.

As we mentioned, the G42 fires .380 Auto, which is usually not a defensive marksman's first choice. And since this model only holds six rounds plus one, it's a better backup weapon than an EDC weapon.

If you want to stray from the masses and find yourself drawn to the newest Sig .357, there's a hidden carry Glock for you too. The compact G32 has identical dimensions to the G19, except it is chambered for the .357 Sig. Place these two weapons next to each other and you'll have to look very closely to tell them apart.

While each of the Glocks on our list generally works well for concealed carry, you won't be able to find the best one for you by reading about it. Getting any of these templates and submitting the lead downrange is the only sure way to see which one is right for you.

Ultimately, you want a CCW that you can confidently load, shoot skillfully, and hide comfortably. Find a Glock friend willing to let you shoot or a booth that will rent them. The best way to find your perfect match is to take them for a thorough test drive.
